1. Information We Collect

When you register for an account, we collect:

1.2 Financial Information
To provide our services, we collect:
- Transaction Data: Amount, merchant name, category, date, and description of your financial transactions
- Budget Information: Budgets and financial goals you create within the App
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
SMS Messages (Android Only)
- With your explicit permission, we read SMS messages from recognized banking institutions to automatically detect and categorize financial transactions
- We only process SMS messages that match known bank transaction patterns
- We do not read or store personal SMS messages unrelated to banking
Device Information
- Device type, operating system version
- Unique device identifiers
- App version and settings
Location Data
- With your permission, we may collect approximate location data to provide location-based insights and categorization
Usage Data
- App features used, screens viewed
- Interaction patterns and preferences
- Crash reports and performance data
1.4 Payment Information
When you purchase tokens or subscriptions:
- Payment processing is handled by Apple App Store (iOS), Google Play Store (Android), or Stripe, Inc. (Huawei and other devices without Google Play Services)
- We do not have direct access to your credit card numbers or banking details
- We receive confirmation of successful transactions from the respective payment platform

2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide Services: Track transactions, generate insights, manage budgets
- AI-Powered Analysis: Generate personalized financial recommendations using artificial intelligence
- AI Processing: Process your data through third-party AI services to generate insights, scan receipts, and respond to questions. AI processing is automated and does not involve human review of your individual data.
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience
- Communicate: Send service-related notifications, respond to inquiries
- Process Payments: Complete token purchases and maintain transaction records
- Security: Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
3.1 Service Providers
- Cloud Hosting: Amazon Web Services (AWS) for data storage
- Payment Processing: Stripe, Inc. for payment transactions
- AI Services: Anthropic for AI-powered financial insights
- Analytics: Firebase and Amplitude for app analytics
3.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.
3.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
3.5 AI Data Processing
To provide AI-powered features (receipt scanning, financial insights, FetchAI assistant), we send certain data to our AI provider (currently Anthropic, PBC).
Data We Send:
- Receipt images you choose to scan
- Transaction amounts, categories, and merchant names
- Questions you ask the FetchAI assistant
- Spending patterns for generating insights
How Your Data Is Processed:
- Data is processed in real-time to generate responses
- Anthropic does not store your personal data after processing
- Your data is not used to train AI models
- All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption
Your Consent:
AI data processing requires your separate and explicit consent, which is distinct from your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. When you first use FetchAI features in the app, you will be asked to give this consent separately. You may withdraw your AI data processing consent at any time through the App settings — this will disable FetchAI features but will not affect your ability to use the rest of the app.
AI-powered features are entirely optional. You can use MoneyFetch for manual expense tracking without enabling AI features.

3.6 AI Conversation Data
What We Store: When you use AI features, we may store:
- Your questions and prompts sent to AI
- AI-generated responses
- Timestamp and token usage
Purpose: This data is stored to:
- Provide conversation history within the App
- Improve our services
- Investigate technical issues
Retention: AI conversation data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, this data is deleted within 30 days.
No Human Review: Your individual AI conversations are not routinely reviewed by our employees. We may access conversation data only for technical support (with your consent) or if required by law.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Storage Location
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) located in the United States.
4.2 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Encryption at rest for stored data
- Secure authentication with JWT tokens
- Regular security assessments
4.3 Data Retention
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active
- Upon account deletion, we delete your personal data within 30 days
- Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes
5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Access and Portability

5.2 Correction
You may update or correct your account information through the App settings.
5.3 Deletion

5.4 SMS Permissions (Android)
You may revoke SMS reading permissions at any time through your device settings. This will disable automatic transaction detection.
5.5 Location Permissions
You may disable location access through your device settings at any time.
5.6 Marketing Communications
You may opt out of promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in our emails.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: Request information about data collection and sharing practices
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
